Next-generation media monitoring, analysis and distribution solution enables timely, informed and strategic business decisions
April 13, 2015 - NEW YORK - LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced the launch of LexisNexis® Newsdesk, a comprehensive media aggregation, monitoring and analytics solution enabling business, legal and information professionals to confidently find, analyze and share key insights about the company, industry and competitive environment of their business or client.
LexisNexis Newsdesk comes to market as a result of the LexisNexis acquisition of Moreover Technologies last year. Since that transaction, LexisNexis has integrated its leading collection of licensed news and business information with the deep selection of news, open Web content, and analytical and distribution features from the Moreover Newsdesk solution. These resources are now delivered seamlessly through a single, easy-to-use interface that helps users quickly discover, review and disseminate vital information. "Every day, business, legal and information professionals look for the proverbial 'needle in a haystack' when it comes to current awareness and market intelligence," said Tom Ogburn, managing director, Global Business Insight Solutions at LexisNexis. "LexisNexis Newsdesk is like a powerful magnet that quickly pulls those needles out and arranges them neatly in one place for review and distribution across a company, department or law firm, so users can confidently make timely, data-driven decisions in today's hyper competitive environment."
Catering to the needs of business strategy, corporate communications, marketing, legal and information professionals as well as other roles seeking current awareness information, LexisNexis Newsdesk offers the most comprehensive collection of global news and business information available. This includes more than four million daily news articles, broadcast media, blogs, and social media channels from more than 150 countries and in 75 languages – all specifically curated and indexed to provide actionable insights quickly.
LexisNexis Newsdesk adds value to this rich selection of content with several new capabilities. For example, improved analytics features offer data visualization to create and share market intelligence through live charts and graphs measuring key metrics such as sentiment, share of voice and coverage by geography.
Further, a new information panel appears with each search result and displays metadata such as MozRank, Kloutscore and sentiment, enabling a user to quickly determine relevance. And, LexisNexis content has been fully integrated to enable a seamless search experience. Additional capabilities, such as integrated legal content, additional administrative features, and the proprietary LexisNexis SmartIndexing TechnologyTM to further enrich content will be added later this year.
LexisNexis Newsdesk also offers industry-leading customization and integration options for a more streamlined workflow. For example, users can build personalized dashboards tailored to their interests or view shared dashboards for collaboration across an organization. It also allows customers to aggregate specified owned and licensed content and directly integrate it into users' workflow. Users also have the option to export relevant news via newsletters, alerts, RSS or ATOM feeds. LexisNexis Newsdesk easily integrates with corporate and law firm portals, intranets and applications such as CRM. It also enables the use of customer branding for a customized look and feel.
"LexisNexis is already the resource for news and business information," said Ogburn. "And now, the addition of LexisNexis Newsdesk adds a vital, near real-time monitoring and analysis suite to the greater LexisNexis media intelligence and current awareness portfolio."
